spreads across a variety of east, central and southern African countries, and he
leads the various research & development and marketing & sales
teams. His university background is in Law (Münster, Paris), International Relations (Toulouse), Responsible Tourism Management (London) and Pro-poor Tourism (Münster),
and his Ph.D. thesis dealt with maximizing tourism's
contribution to poverty reduction in Rwanda.

and, thereby, gained vast professional experience in the
hospitality and tourism industry. Among others, she worked as
Assistant Sales Manager and Conference Coordinator for several
top hotels in the UK, and as Senior Travel Advisor for
Africa and Asia at the British headquarter of TUI, the biggest
tourism company in the world. She holds a degree in
International Travel Management (Brighton) and a Master's in
Tourism Destination Management (Birmingham). During her time in
the UK, she initiated and managed an awareness campaign on the
role of tourism in sustainable development in the post-conflict
situation of her home country, culminating in the official
national launch of Burundi Tourism in 2008. Since her return to
the region, she actively pursued the objective of turning
tourism into a sustainable economic sector in Burundi and now
signs responsible for our operations in Kenya.
Cecile Umuhoza (Operations Manager, Rwanda)
Cecile grew up in Gisenyi and later followed the scientific option at the respected Lycee Amani in Goma, DR Congo. Studying at the National University of Rwanda in Butare, she obtained a Bachelor's
degree in Biology with a dissertation on mountain gorilla
conservation. Before joining Eos Visions Rwanda, she worked with ACNR (Association pour la Conservation de la Nature au Rwanda) as a volunteer, being an active member since 2006,
and with tour operator New Dawn Associates, a former member of the Eos Visions
network. She has also been active in the Rotaract Club in Butare since 2004, conducting fundraising activities and assisting vulnerable inpatients at Butare Health Center as well as primary school students. Her main interests lie in areas that are rich in biodiversity as well as the surrounding populations that use these areas as a resource of revenue for sustainable development.

through Tourism". She deepened her practical experiences with
the former Eos Visions member New Dawn Associates in Rwanda and is now at the forefront of the developments
related to sustainable volunteer programs. Usually based in
Germany, she represents the Eos Visions network at Europe's major
international tourism fairs such as the WTM (London) or the ITB
